Lace recently started eating TOTW Pacific Stream.I can tell it’s far from her favorite. In the beginning she’d nip at it.Her bowels at first was soft and liquidy but as time went on it got better. On the Wetlands it was always soft. From the way her body reacts to all of the TOTW dry food she can handle High Prairie the best,Pacific Stream then the Wetlands.Remember each dog is an individual. What works for Lacey may not always work for another maltese/toy poodle or any other dog breeds.
Update august 23 2010:Lace is having difficulty digesting pacific stream but seems to do good on about 1/16-1/8c.1/4c seems to be too much for her. We’ll try it for a few more days and see how she does. Now,we’re mixing 1/8c pacific stream + 1/8c high prairie to see if it makes a difference.if not we’ll give it away for free….

Leba III vs PetzLife Oral Gel vs Tropiclean
Leba III is what Dr Kaya recommended. For 1 oz=240 sprays costs at least $60-80 for 1 oz.It is herbal though
Petz Life Oral Gel costs about $25-30 for 4 oz.It’s also more available in Hawaii than Leba III and Tropiclean
We apply the Salmon gel twice daily in the morning and at night & in 3 weeks there’s no tarter!Best of all,Lacey loves “brush teeth” time and no need for toothbrushing with Petrodex!
Lacey’s Annual Fecal Exams August 6 2010
Lacey’s Annual Fecal Exam came back negative! She’s due for another fecal exam next July-August 2011 before Summer 2011′s trip.
Lacey’s Annual August 7 2010
Lacey’s annual went very well.Today there was no heart murmur!Yea!!!!Best news ever!No vaginitis and no licking.Only thing was there’s some tarter build up so we’re going to get her the PetzLife Oral Spray..Many owners swear by it and we’ve been looking into it but since we didn’t need it I didn’t say anything about it.Dr Kaya recommended Leba III but I try to get her items that’s all natural. We mentioned that we found fleas on Lacey and got her flea & tick spray along with flea shampoo.Dr Kaya mentioned really there’s no need for flea shampoo as it’s medicated…Also that fleas are supposed to be killed within 36 hours. Also took a fecal exam.In December Lacey will get her rabies shot with a 2 month time frame which will allow her to go to the mainland for three years. After 2 rabies shots she gets a rabies test which will take a month before we get results. All in all it was an excellent visit!!
Natural Chemistry Flea & Tick Spray
A few days ago we caught some fleas on our dear girl Lacey. We put Revolution but still there were fleas. It could’ve been due to rolling in the grass. We bought some Natural Chemistry Flea & Tick Spay($20) and sprayed some around her neck area.We haven’t found any new fleas since. If there were any it dried up as soon as it came in contact. We also got her the shampoo. If we ever need to get rid of fleas we turn to Natural Chemistry’s products line for pet.Pricey but worth it!
New dog food for Lacey
Lacey will be starting and trying the fish protein starting on Sunday. Both formulas are fairly limited to fish & potatoes.Since there are limited dry food with a limited ingredient we’ve chosen Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish,Earthborn Holistic Ocean Fusion,Solid Gold Barking At The Moon(Beef & fish with herbs) and Taste of The Wild Pacific Ocean. What we’re doing is sticking to the limited grain/grain free diet and seeking which protein reduces her itchings the most or if all proteins are good in results we’ll just switch up[ the protein every few months. Our neighbor’s dog Brownie is finishing up the remaining of Halo’s Wild Salmon,Taste of The Wild High Prairie and Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural.Lacey has been on chicken protein since last July.Chicken is and was mixed in majority of the low and high quality dry food that she ate since then.
