Lacey Princess yeast infection in ear(2nd yeast infection since 2009)
Yesterday we found out that Lacey had a yeast infection in her right ear.It was warm,a little crusty and she itched it.It didn’t require vet assistance though. We used white vinegar and water then used a qtip to swab her ear.We did this one time last night. We also ordered a yeast infection medicine(holistic of course)from naturalpets.com
3 PACK Zymox (1.25oz) Hydrocortisone Free
This was at the knowledge and recommendation from Natural rearing owners/breeders of dogs.
Lace is doing better. Her yeast infection was due to Pa not cleaning her ears or rather being lazy instead of putting her herbal ear medicine into her ear directly every week(Currently using Halo’s Herbal ear cleanse)he has been doing that every other week and the other week wiping the ear flap with cotton ball using the Halo’s Herbal ear Cleanser during which he put the Herbal Ear Cleanser into her ear every week prior to that she hasn’t had a yeast infection in her ears for years already.
Lacey gets excited for KFC
Today my dad came home with some bags of kentucky fried chicken, one of Lacey’s favorite fast food types of Chicken. As soon as he stepped foot into the house and Lace sees him with bags of her favorite type of chicken,Kentucky Fried Chicken, she runs up to the bag, sniffs it,wags her tail and starts jumping up at him to tell him thank you many many times for getting her favorite chicken for her dinner. She knows some of it is hers and she will get first choice before me.She gets all the meat except the cooked bones and skin. The skin will put a pound on her very easily
Wildcatch for Pets Salmon Bites:Lacey’s review
Today we got Lace some new treats since she goes through her treats very quickly, she’s also getting ready to get a new collar and treats this coming weekend at the Hawaii Pet Expo! She loves it and had no hesitation taking to it.We got her the small bite size so it’s easier for her to eat
Lacey’s new shampoo:Buddy Wash Lavender & Mint
One of the cheaper dog shampoos we got at Kalihi Pet for Lace, works well, smells nice and she always comes out smelling like Lavender after a bath. The scent lasts for about 3-4 days, easy to wash off when she gets a bath or rinse
Lacey dislikes Spring Naturals Beef Treat,Solid Gold Tiny Tots
Lacey doesn’t care for these treats for some reason
Lacey can’t have spicy chicken with red pepper
Lacey Girl can’t have chicken that has red pepper in it because it will make her regurgitate. On Wednesday we had bought some Mesquite Chicken Wings from Costco,a little different from the Rotisserie Chicken we always buy for her.She had no problem eating it and gulping it down but later I found out that she threw up by the entry way.It took some thinking to figure out what caused it.After some thinking the only thing I could figure out that she ate differently was the Mesquite Chicken Wings from Costco.Looking at the ingredients it did have more spice, paprika but that shouldn’t have been a issue.Looking further down I saw red peppers and that was probably it,it tasted good to her,she loved it but the red peppers got to her so now we need to be careful of not feeding her anything with Pineapple or similar, heavy grains(4 plus no specifics yet) and red pepper.Other than that she’s doing great,no health problems to note!
Feeding Lacey grains
For the longest time,I’d feed Lacey a minimal of up to 3 grains because that’s what her body would handle.Though recently I have noticed that even if you feed her some treats with even one grain(no specific grain in particular) that her vulva has been getting red even if you break it into the smallest pieces so to be safe than sorry I am going to eliminate all grains even in dry food, can food and treats. She will be on a absolutely 100% grain free diet on dry food, can food, and treats unless I start to see more reactions from her body.
Lace gets excited for raw!
So tonight it just so happened we didn’t really have a whole lot of chicken(cooked/baked) for her to eat besides mushroom chicken which we had made with cream of chicken with herbs instead of regular cream of chicken(by the way made by campbells)which she doesn’t care for as much as the regular cream of chicken,so we tried to give her BBQ chicken which she turned her head away from…I had taken out frozen raw(Nature’s Variety Instinct Chicken Frozen Raw) and unthawed it as one option,I have the can food that was frozen unthawing for tomorrow should she choose to eat it and we also had some frozen raw meat(beef) in the freezer so we took some out, waited for it to unthaw, now once the raw meat was unthawed we fed it to Lace which she responded with a such exciting wag of her tail and she excitedly ate a good amount.Very surprsingly she remembers what raw meat is and she loves it.The first time I fed her raw meeat she didn’t get excited at all.In fact she was trying to figure out if she could actually eat the raw chunks of meat which she did eat once she knew she could eat it.After she ate her raw meat, minutes later she went over to her puppy pad and made a nice firm piece of bm.The best thing about feeding raw meat is not only do dogs love it & I actually encourage owners to feed raw over cooked meat if you can or even dog food but bowels and health benefits are just as good.
