Blue Buffalo Update “3 grains”

Lace has been on Blue Buffalo Small Breed for a very very short time. She does have more energy on it and no doubt about it that it is high energy food. After a consistent 3 day stretch on it I noticed she was licking her vulva more but it’s not long enough to detect any medical issues. So today I switched up her food to Halo’s(not planning on going back on Halo’s dry full time but temporarily)and there was less licking. So,it seems that 4 grains causes UTI’s,3 grains COULD be an issue,2 grains works,1 grain obviously will work and grain free will also work for her.Our best bet is to feed dog food with less than two grains. So,the neighbor’s dog & Lacey will be finishing up the Blue Buffalo Small Breed,Nature’s Best Lamb & Rice(another 3 grain) and Lacey will be getting Blue Buffalo Small Breed once a week(which was working before),Taste of the wild,Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural and on occasion Halo’s.Once the Blue Buffalo Small Breed is done Lacey won’t get any more of the Halo’s and be switching to mostly grain free unless we can find Blue Longevity,or Blue Basics.Otherwise it will be just grain free:Taste of the wild(High Prairie),Blue Buffalo Wilderness(all flavors).Of course when we go out that way we’ll be buying more items at one time so we don’t have to go back and forth every time.

Stabalizing Lacey on dry food

So far, so good.Yesterday was the first time Lace was given the “normal” amount of table food for a day since I stopped her Halo’s and early this morning she ate 1 Stella & Chewy Duck Duck Goose & 1/8 cup of Blue Buffalo w/some water that was already in her crate. She ate it right away…
She seemed to like Blue Buffalo more than the other brands we have right now especially when the Blue Buffalo is wetted with water. Now,to hope for good health till July providing she will eat it on almost a daily basis…That will tell us & be the most effective to help us figure out if she’s doing good on Blue Buffalo with three grains..If not she can always get the Wilderness or maybe via internet? Not sure on price differences..In addition I am trying to get her to eat some can food daily to hopefully help prevent further UTI’s.
