Lacey gets new nail clippers

Hello Fellow Readers of Lacey’s Blog:
Sorry we have not posted anything about her in a while.She is doing overall well with very minor health concerns..Most of which was treated at home…She will be getting new nail clippers today & maybe a new treat & more can food…The only other news we have is that we have not seen or heard Brownie bark for a while so we are not sure what’s going on..Haven’t left food out in a while…Otherwise no real news to report on Lacey Girl!
Update:Originally we were going to get her can food(Wellness@Kalihi Pets was going for 3.25 per can..We were going to pick up about 5-7 cans but could easily by other brands under 3.00 X12 easily for about 30-40.00 at Naturally Pet)..We did get her a new pair of clippers called u groom nail scissors.We still have the puppy clippers put away for the next puppy in the years ahead but I think this one can be used for all dogs at all life stages.
We did get her new treats called Real Meat Treats(Beef flavored)
Here are a few brands we have used successfully for Lacey that are freeze dried,dehydrated or mostly meat with no fruits/veggies for the most part…These treats typically run about 10.99-14.99 even for small treats in a 2-4 oz container.

Those are a few that stand out in my mind that we have used.On ocassion I buy her treats with veggies/fruits like Sojo or Solid Gold treats etc but not consistantly.Most of the time it’s mostly meaty treats.

New changes to Nutro!

We are excited to let the readers who come to Lacey’s site that new changes are coming to Nutro…We are excited to try their new grain free formula which will hopefully be at Kalihi Pets for us to try next year(2011) in the Hawaiian Islands.I am excited to say that corn gluten meal and Vitamin K3 will be taken out of the ingredients which were 1 of 2 reasons Lacey hasn’t tried it yet and that it has 3 grains in it.Read the post on dogster!

Lacey approves of Stella & Chewy’s Kisses Agnus Beef treats!

Yesterday,Sunday, at Kalihi Pet Store,Lacey got a new treat from Stella & Chewy,the Stella & Chewy Kisses Angus Beef treats…She loved it…Best of all it’s small and very easy to chew..The only negative thing is that Stella & Chewy is always so expensive but that it’s so healthy for it and she loves it…what more can you ask for except a healthy dog??!

Lacey refuses Natural Balance Dry Food Sample as well as can food

Today we went to Kalihi Pet to get Lacey some chew toys.We did find one by Petrodex.The only thing I don’t like about that one is that there’s poultry digest but otherwise I feel safe with it.Lacey also got a new tshirt that says “Daddy’s Girl!” and we also got a sample of the Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish to see her reaction.Not surprisingly she absolutely refused just like the can food.She took a sniff and turned her nose upwards.Thought maybe the piece was too big so I broke it into a smaller size.Same reaction.Sniff..and she turns her nose to the side upwards!

Natural Balance is the very first brand that she’s refused both dry & can food.Usually if she does not take it one way she’ll eat the other but in the case of Natural Balance she has refused both dry & can!
