DiVentus Dog Hotel
So we called Di Ventus to get a verification that it is ok for Lacey to still go there inspite of having a UTI.We called and the staff said that they do take pets even if they have UTI and they also give meds as long as it’s a pill there is no charge.Thought we’d post it in case other dog owners who may be interested in DiVentus Dog Hotel needed to know any type of information.I still feel that Lacey will do well here and taken care of.However due to her UTI she will only be allowed canned food and no dry food whatsoever.Just hope she doesn’t have to be on it longer than a month or she may feel like I don’t have to eat dry food but right now they say it’s better to feed wet food due to the moisture content..A dog owner gotta do what they gotta do to care for their pet.
How I picked Lacey’s Boarding Place
So we called VCA to see if Dr Kaya was working on the Saturday Lacey has her next checkup for her heart murmur grade 2 and spaying,he is so we kept the appointment. We will also ask him about the motion sickness if there is a medicine that she can take before we go on outingsAnyways so after that I called Ohana Doggie Day Care & Spa LLC to ask about their services.Price wise is about $35 for a small dog and she’d have to go in for at least 2 day care sessions,She’d need her parvo, rabies etc…From the looks of the website she’d have her own bed but there is also gated area for the dogs too inside the center.I don’t know how she’d like that.I remember as a puppy she’d cry till we got a familiar scent to keep her cries to a minimal. So my mom suggested we call VCA to see where they’d recommend.Of course they recommended their other VCA hospitals down Pearl City & Kaneohe but that’s too far for us…Other than that they mentioned Ohana Doggie Day Care & Di Ventus Dog Hotel in Honolulu. With that,I looked it up on the internet and gave the place a call. The DiVentus website didn’t work.Anyways,I did my research by researching the words “Di Ventus” and I actually saw a lot of helpful information on the business. For a description of the Di Ventus Dog Hotel & Spa including some pictures go to http://islandtails.honadvblogs.com/category/daycare/
All dogs are accepted even those with behavior issues. Most places your dog would have to pass a evaluation placement to be sure that your dog is compatiable with the other dogs. There are puppy pads in one bathroom. It’s cage free!Couches, flat screen tv.Dogs can go inside or outside.Dogs in heat is in another room to keep peace.Detailed records are kept on every dog like when the dog ate or didn’t,amount of times they went to the bathroom, classify dogs by colored leashes so staff knows their traits..Some may be chewers, aggresive, have seperation anxiety.Owners can pick their dogs up at any time since they are around the clock. What really got me to say yes to this place is not only were they helpful in answering my questions but the anxiety/hesitation I usually get when I call a new place wasn’t there as much.In fact, from the second I spoke to the staff via phone I felt pretty comfortable with the place and haven’t even visited the place yet but they answered my questions politely and were patient. Also very helpful. But what really got me to say yes to the place is that they have puppy pads and it is a relief to know that we don’t have to bring Lacey’s pads to Di Ventus.Probably don’t use the brand we have at home but just the fact they do have puppy pads is a plus in itself.Lacey was trained to go inside on mats and so it’s helpful if we can keep her on that even when she is away from home.Otherwise she may or may not get confused.and we don’t want to retrain her all over again! For grooming one person said it’s about $35 for shampooing, nail trim and all. We’d have to bring her in up to 4 hours in January for 2 day care sessions costing a total of only $30($15,which is $11 + tax,per daycare visit for 4 hours)& $25 per night. All in all it’s a reasonable deal. After only being in service for a year sounds like they are doing good and I am more than confident Lacey would enjoy her stay here at Di Ventus. The way we’ll be able to tell is after her first day care visit which will be next month.New things and exciting things for her to experience before she turns one in March!
