Our fear for Lacey

A few nights ago we had a scare for dear pup.We have noticed lately that she has been licking her vulva area and it’s looking black. At first we thought it could be several things:1)Urniary tract infection 2)Yeast Infection 3)Dirt 4)Heat.When we cleaned it with water and on a piece of cardboard we took hydrogen peroxide to see if it would sizzle(the black stuff) to see if it was blood. My mom was a lab tech so she knows about this stuff.Anyways it didn’t sizzle which meant that it was not blood. We think it’s just dirt but if it does not come out clean on Saturday when we give Lacey a bath and there’s no improvement with her licking we are considering on calling Dr Kaya so he can check it out.For now, she’s great.Full of pep but not as active as before. We think she’s going to be one of the maltipoos that calm down as she gets older.I do think that Lacey does understand most of what we are telling her.People say dogs don’t understand what we tell them but I believe that there are a few exceptions to that rule.Honestly!

Lacey’s scare

Tonight(Friday night)my dear puppy Lacey was frightened and very scared. She went into my mom’s work room and saw a shopping bag that was open. She just so happened to put her head in the right way such that she got her head caught right in the center of the two handles.According to my parents she was screaming, yelping and crying trying to take it off she dragged the bag which then caught on to my mom’s chair leg(It’s one of those office chairs with three legs that spins around)and my mom was able to free her.But because she was so scared and frightened when she made poop my mom could sense the smell of blood but the blood was not there physically.I was away at church so I didn’t see this but when I came back she seemed happy like always but what a scare it must have been for the poor thing..I wish I was there to help comfort her..She’s resting now and in good spirits.
