As many know when we first started Lacey on Berry Balance she was on Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit,which may have played a factor in her UTI along with being part toy poodle..She also took 1/8 t with every meal using canned food but her bowels were still very soft..I emailed another pup’s owner who dealt with UTI with their dog who suggested I keep Lacey on Berry Balance for another week and could be adjusting to it.Otherwise to discontinue using it..Along with that,I’ve been watching her bowels very closely by noticing when she goes to make her poop and look at the texture,size,color,softness then I give her some Wagging’ Train treats(it’s very easy to break apart)in small portions after she makes her poop.Then I give her some food with Berry Balance.Along with that I also give her another piece of waggin’ train with her meal.It seems to be helping because I’ve been doing it this way for the past day to day and a half and her bowels are getting better.I don’t have a set schedule as for the time she gets Berry Balance but typically after she goes and does her bowels I give her a Waggin’ Train followed by food with Berry Balance and another slice of Waggin’ Train wit her meal.I tried to give it to her with dry food but she won’t touch it.
A interesting thought about Lacey:She’ll take water from a doggie bowl but when you put her food in a bowl she won’t touch it.She’ll only take it on a plate.even fish,she won’t eat it in her dry or canned food if it’s listed first but if there’s fish listed further along ie salmon,whitefish,salmon oil etc(not exactly in that order but if some type of fish is listed after something like Beef Tripe,Beef Broth,Turkey,Salmon,Salmon oil…is ok)she’ll eat it.BUT she will eat cooked Salmon,Ahi(especially Ahi we found to be her favorite over Salmon).

Berry Balance update
I got a response from a owner whose dog had UTI about Berry Balance who suggested that while their dog didn’t have any of these problems(soft bowels) that it could be she’s adjusting to the supplement and to try it out for another week.We’ve already decided to stop the Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit and I have no plans to put her back on it for any reason.It was a good food and she did love it but not as much after Halo’s Spot’s Stew came along…We’ll try it for another week and see how she does.Otherwise if there is still soft bowel movements we’ll stop Berry Balance altogether and for a while keep her on Halo’s while we figure things out.Also when we see Dr Kaya in February we’ll ask him if there is any preventive medicine to help prevent UTI’s from reoccurring..and see what he has to say.I am also not going to mention the change of her food till I figure out what other type of “diet” we’ll try for her.
Solid Gold Berry Balance arrives today!
Today we got the Solid Gold Berry Balance in the mail today.Lacey took her first scoop of SG Berry Balance with 1/8 cup of Merricks.Will continue giving her SG Berry Balance for at least a year and see how things turn out.
Lacey is doing well…
Lacey is continuing to get over her UTI which seems like it’s practically finished but since Dr Kaya has said for her to take her Tetracycline(doxycycline) for a month she’s still taking it but has a lot more energy and defiantly has more energy for walking/running twice a day.Lacey has eaten more of her own dog food.She’s been eating canned food consistently for over a week now and recently(today January 6 2010) has started to eat Halo’s dry food once again and also had Merricks canned food.She hasn’t humped or licked her vulva a lot.still waiting on the Solid Gold Berry Balance although we probably won’t need it but will give it to her anyways for at least a year and see how things go.
Solid Gold Berry Balance & Halo’s Shampoo
Solid Gold Berry Balance is also sold at naturally pet in hawaii.I didn’t know this before(before we ordered it online)because I never looked for it before.We also saw Halo’s Herbal Shampoo at Naturally Pet.Right now we are using Sergeant’s® Fur-So-Fresh® Puppy Shampoo which does not and I can not seem to find a list of ingredients for their shampoo.As for Halo’s Cloud Nine Herbal Shampoo I’ve always trusted Halo with the care of my dog and the results of her eating Halo and using some of their products are amazing.We haven’t used or bought it yet but I am sure it’ll do wonders for her.Like most people say Halo’s can be a bit on the pricy side but if it works for your dog and you’re pleased with the results it’s worth the money.We’ll probably eventually switch out between Halo’s shampoo & Earthbath.They both seem like excellent quality!
Solid Gold Berry Balance for UTI
I’ve heard so many good things about Solid Gold Berry Balance for helping dogs and cats with UTI that I was seriously purchasing this for Lacey.Many dog owners have recommended this and that it’s helped their dogs get their Ph back on balance that right now I am open to almost any suggestion that will help ease Lacey’s pain.So heartbreaking to hear those cries of pain…I’ve spoken with my parents about it and we agreed to give it a shot.Among other things many said that wet food at the moment is the way to go.So right now I’ve got her on ONLY canned food then after her meds switching her to both dry/canned again.One person suggested that ACV also works to put it in her food not the water.First I think we’ll try SG Berry Balance and see how that goes before we try giving her ACV.Hopefully she’ll get better.Keep her in your prayers!
